Pandemic Response Opens Up Long-Term Investment Opportunities
AIMCo’s Chief Investment Strategy Officer is keeping a close eye on the actions of central banks and governments around the world, as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves.
Amit Prakash shared his views with CAiP, an organization that provides insights and events related to investment strategies for Canadian pensions.
Prakash is considering AIMCo’s opportunities in a number of areas including senior secured loans, private debt and loan and private equity.
“Private equity looks quite attractive relative to public equities in that they weren’t negatively impacted as much by the pandemic on the valuations, both due to the lag in the mark-to-market, as well as less frothy valuations to begin with,” said Prakash.
