Annual assessment returns top marks
The results are in from the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) 2020 survey and AIMCo has once again earned top marks. As a PRI signatory, AIMCo is assessed annually on its environmental, social and governance (ESG) integration and performance relative to peers.
AIMCo’s 2020 performance is its best yet — an A+ grade in 12 out of 14 categories and an A grade in the remaining two categories. Alberta’s investment manager outperformed the median score across all 14 categories.
The survey process is thorough, involving more than 30 team members across various AIMCo departments and asset classes who provide nearly 100 pages of detailed inputs, explanations and evidence. Despite the challenges caused by COVID-19, 2020 marked the tenth year AIMCo successfully submitted to the largest global reporting project on responsible investment.
